X-Files News is on Archival Mode. Updates are on hiatus.

The X-Files could be adding more awards to the trophy case. The 42nd Annual Saturn Awards nominees were announced on YouTube this morning and The X-Files got several nominations. The Saturn Awards honor outstanding work in the genres of science fiction, horror, and fantasy. The X-Files was nominated for Best SciFi TV series. Gillian Anderson was nominated for Best TV Actress for her work as Dana Scully and David Duchovny was nominated for Best TV Actor for his role as Fox Mulder.

Some X-Files alumni projects were also nominated. Hannibal got a nod in the Best Action/Thriller TV Series category and Gillian Anderson picked up her second nomination of the day as Best Supporting TV Actress for her role as Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier. Hannibal's Mads Mikkelsen is also up against David Duchovny in the Best TV Actor category.

Frank Spotnitz' The Man in the High Castle also got recognition in the Best New Media TV Series category.

Congratulations to all the nominees! The awards ceremony is typically held in June, but check back for an official date. Today's announcement was just part of the full list, which will be shared by the Saturn Awards here on March 2.
